What
Every Tuesday we host a vegan and gluten-free dinner with the intention of building and nurturing a thriving creative community. Itβs a simple gathering but it serves as the foundation for The School in a lot of ways, bringing folks together to enjoy a meal while exchanging ideas, dreaming up projects, solving problems, telling stories, and having a good laugh. Each week one person volunteers to cook a simple lower cost meal, and anyone who would like to attend is invited to sign up online. Guests are encouraged to simply arrive, be fed, and show up in whatever way feels authentic for them. We hope for the evening to nourish our creative community with food and thought. Around 10 people attend each dinner. The guests for each dinner are different, making every dinner its own unique occurrence.
When
Guests arrive after 7pm. We start informally serving ourselves and eating around 7:30. If you arrive after 7:30, food portions are not guaranteed. We start winding down around 9:30 pm to adhere to the 10pm building quiet hours.
Where
The dinners are held in a house, near SE 34th & SE Belmont, Portland, Oregon, United States. It is an old house with a big table for sharing a meal! Masks are welcome but not required. Details on how to get to the space will be provided with each invite.
πΒ There is a cat in the house! Friendly and chill, but not hypo-allergenic! π
