Sarah Levy
What
The two goals are to practice listening to your body, as in hearing what it is asking you to do to feel better, and to release energy that is stuck in our bodies. This will be a guided movement/dance class, with soft prompts for you to try and at other times you can follow your own movement.
When
Friday, June 20, 1:00-2:30 PM
*Weather-permitting: since this workshop will be in an open backyard, please check this page for a potential cancellation if heavy rain is on the forecast!
Where
School of Art and Time, near SE 34th & SE Belmont, Portland, Oregon, United States. This event happens in the communal backyard space of an old house. Details on how to get to the space will be provided upon sign-up. The house indoor space is not available except for bathroom access during workshops. Stumptown Coffee on Belmont and Laurelhurst Park are the nearest public restrooms.
Why
- Your body knows what it needs. The work is just in listening to it.
- In society today we don't often get to "complete the stress cycle," so stress gets lodged and stuck in our body. We need to consciously release it.
Let’s play with these ideas and hopefully come away feeling a little lighter in our bodies!
How
The workshop is offered at a sliding scale of $0.00-$13.12 to defray the cost of other free programming. There are limited slots. If you have any questions, send a message to Sarah Levy at levy.sarahm@gmail.com
