Who
Anyone interested in learning about Artificial Intelligence (AI) in an approachable and participatory way! Whether you're curious, skeptical, or excited about AI.
What
A hands-on, participatory exploration of AI—what it is, how it works, where it’s useful, and the implications and impacts it may have. Led by Jaron Heard, founder of Soonlist, an app that uses AI to instantly save, organize, and share events, and who actively leverages AI to design, build, and market the platform.
Expect interactive demos, critical discussions, and collaborative experimentation.
When
Friday, May 23, 1-3PM, with an optional hour from 3-4PM to further process and explore.
Where
School of Art and Time, near SE 34th & SE Belmont, Portland, Oregon, United States. This event happens in the communal backyard space of an old house. There is a covered office shed with counters, work table, and desks. We have a white board, Wi-Fi, a large monitor, and a variety of art supplies to use. Details on how to get to the space will be provided upon sign-up. The house indoor space will be available for restroom access during the workshop but is not otherwise available.
Why
AI is here, and is beginning to change our world, whether we like it or not. This workshop offers a space to openly explore and experiment together at the limits of what’s currently possible, to better understand this technology and thoughtfully choose how—or if—we want to engage with it.
How
Sign up to attend the workshop. The workshop is offered at a sliding scale of $0.00-$13.12 to defray the cost of other free programming. There are limited slots. If you have any questions, send a message to Jaron Heard at 971-998-7180.
