Organizing Meeting Script

It is 8:30pm. Thank you all for being here. For any folks unfamiliar with tonight, we hold a monthly organizing meeting here at the School of Art and Time. We hold these monthly organizing meetings to come together as a community, check in on our programming and upcoming events, discuss logistics, and create a recurring space to address challenges and opportunities while practicing non-hierarchical organizing. And so, for any folks who would like to stay and join in such, welcome to School Of Art and Time’s Monthly Organizing Meeting.
Is there anyone present who hasn’t met everyone?
(If not: Then let’s go round right quick and each share our name/how we want to be addressed.)
To start things off, we like to invite folks to first join in taking three deep breaths to help connect us to ourselves, to one another and to this moment here and now.
(4-8 count inhales, 6-10 count exhales)
In coming together tonight in this space, I want to invite all of us to move with the following intentions:
1. To welcome what is alive in you & others.
2. To own one’s own experience by using I-statements.
3. For us to listen with compassion and curiosity.
4. To practice non hierarchical co-facilitation. Everyone is a learner, everyone is a teacher.
5. For us to all be mindful of how much space we may be taking up vs how much space we are opening to others.
6. And lastly for all to remember we are all humans trying our best. We may make mistakes, we can also make amends. WHEN EVERYONE BRINGS WOOD, THE FIRE BURNS BRIGHT!
This evening we’ll talk on any updates and/or outlying points of previous discussions, and time permitting, give space to any new agenda items brought forward tonight. We’ll gather of list of both of these and work our way down.

It is now 9:30pm! Let’s close up tonight’s meeting, all agenda items not addressed will be moved to next month’s meeting. By choosing to attend and participate in this meeting, you are agreeing to:
1. Welcome what is alive in you & others.

It is now time to read the minutes from last month’s meeting. Would someone introduce themselves and read the minutes from last month’s meeting? (minutes are read)
Do we all accept those minutes as accurate enough? (pause for consensus)
Next, is there any new business to be added? This is just an introduction of new agenda items. Detailed discussion will happen time permitting. (pause for folks to share. confirm new items have been recorded)
Now that we have heard both old and new agenda items, Do we want to follow the order they have appeared in or do we want to adjust anything based on chronology, weight or need to be heard?
